The purpose of this area is to provide a weekly recipe that fits into a college student’s lifestyle – easy to make, cost-effective, and minimal equipment needed. The items for these recipes can be purchased using your Red Card Meal Plan funds at Fresh Madison Market.
A variety of recipes will be provided ranging from one pot meals (for easy clean-up), basic how-to instructions (for commonly used food items), healthy snacks, alternative diet options (vegetarian, gluten-free, etc), and many more. Little suggestions will be provided for flavor enhancement, boosting nutritional quality, or potential ingredient alternatives.
Jeremy, our newest staff member, is a 2000 UW-Madison graduate with degrees in both Dietetics and Kinesiology-Exercise Science. He worked for the University of Wisconsin Athletic Department for 20 years in a variety of Nutrition & Food Service roles. Some of his duties included meal planning, nutrition education, cooking demos, and recipe development for the student-athletes. Jeremy now is looking to apply that food & nutrition experience to assist current Red Card Meal Plan users.
